Thing 23
As I reflect on my journey I must admit that I have surprised myself with all the new technology I have learned and attempted to try out. If I hadn't had this experience I would never have learned all of the benefits this technology provides. My own adult children are amazed that I have masted some of the things you have taught me through this process. As I would e-mail my loved ones the things I have learned, I even got a "Mom your use of technology is pretty impressive" Who would of thought! My confidence in using the technology is an area in which I feel I have made the biggest gain. I often was afraid to explore things on the Internet due to virus's and other stuff.. This really limited my exposure to all of the wonderful things that are available in the digital world. I can see me using a lot of which I have learned when I return to school in the fall,. When I had introduced the art of digital storytelling to my students using photos story, their enthusiasm was amazing to wittiness as a teacher. I too have a similar enthusiasm about all of the things that I have learned through these 23 Things. I hope that I will be able to inspire my colleagues to take a risk on some of these wonderful tools that we have access to. Thank-you for creating such a course as 23 Things!

I chose to make a wiki that I could use right know as I prepare for my journey on the Breast Cancer 60 mile 3 day walk.

When I get back to school I plan on creating a wiki to use for agendas for our EPT's (educational planning team ) meetings.
Creating the wiki was fun and I can see me using this resource on a regular basis. I feel the biggest difference with the wiki versus the blog is that you can edit as you go and your just not responding to another persons words. It it a very collaborative tool that I feel would be a real time saver. I can even see me using it with my family to coordinate gatherings. Wiki takes communication to a whole new level.

I was introduced to wiki thorough my Galileo experience in learning how to do photo story . I have the wiki Tech.know on my favorites list and use it often. It was interesting to learn all the things that can be done using wiki. I think I am going to try to set up a wiki to coordinate my team that is walking for the 60 mile breast cancer event. We have been using email and I would like to give this a try. The only hurdle I see is having to teach others to become familiar with this concept . Once they get to understand the concept I think it would make life a little easier. I can see this being an effective tool in creating agendas for educational planning team meetings. Participants could add to the agenda, comment on it and be prepared for our weekly meetings. I think the hurdle of educating others would definitely be worth the fight!

Thing 20
The world of podcasts is an unbelievable resource. I am amazed that their were so many podcasts to chose from. Who would of thought? I had some difficulty navigating around the itune site, however once I figured out where I needed to be I was fine. I even found a resource tool on their site about FAQ's about podcasting that had a lot of good information. I was a little nervous about downloading it to my computer but overcame it in order to complete Thing 20.
